Verró
Privacy Policy
Verró is a handbag authentication app published by Elliot Alderson. This policy describes exactly what the app sends off your device, who receives it, and how long it is kept. It covers the iOS and Android versions of Verró.
1. There is no account
Verró has no sign-up, no login, and no profile. We never ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number, or postal address, and we have no way to look up a person. Everything below is tied at most to a random identifier generated on your device, which is reset if you delete and reinstall the app.
2. Photos you scan
When you authenticate a bag, the photo you choose is uploaded to Google's Gemini API through Firebase AI Logic so the model can analyse it. Google processes the image to produce the result and applies its own abuse-monitoring retention; see the Gemini API terms and Firebase privacy documentation.
We do not keep a copy. Verró has no server of its own: the photo goes from your device to Google and the result comes back. Your scan history, including the photos, is stored only on your device, and deleting a scan in the app or deleting the app removes it.
Please do not photograph anything you would not want processed by a third-party AI service — for example, do not include documents, receipts with personal details, or other people in the frame.
3. Usage and diagnostics
Verró uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. These collect:
- which screens you open and which actions you take in the app;
- a random installation identifier and device identifiers assigned by the Firebase SDK;
- device model, operating system version, language, and app version;
- crash reports and performance traces when something goes wrong.
We use this to find bugs and to see which parts of the app people actually use. It is not linked to your identity, and it is not used for advertising.
4. Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card, and no payment details reach us or our providers. RevenueCat processes the receipt on our behalf so the app knows whether your subscription is active; it receives the anonymous identifier, the product purchased, and the renewal state. 5. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not use advertising SDKs, attribution SDKs, or data brokers.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not request the advertising identifier (IDFA).
- We do not collect your location.
6. Your choices and rights
Because the app holds your scans locally, deleting a scan or deleting Verró removes that data outright. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of data held about you. Write to the address below and we will answer. To find the records we hold, we need the installation identifier, which the app attaches automatically when you use the “Contact support” row in Settings.
7. Children
Verró is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. International transfers
Google, Apple, and RevenueCat operate globally, so the data described above may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
